Various Forms of Google Filters as Backlashes Against SEO

There has been a good deal of discussion in SEO fields about various forms of SEO filters. Google's SEO filters are a backlash against SEO work. They feel SEO's are manipulating their results. Furthermore they would rather searchpreneurs pay for placement with PPC. Here are some of the filters SEOs complain or comment about that I feel have some merit.

Google obviously has various ways to circumvent SEO work. The following are just a few.

1. Drop sites out of Its database altogether. This they usually only do if a site is a really bad SEO spammer using hidden text, cloaking, doorway pages etc.

2. A filter on new sites (AKA Google sandbox) which takes a new site 6 to 8 months to get a decent ranking. You can read more about this in some of the earlier articles on this blog.

3. Take away Google PageRank. This they usually only do this if they feel a site (or link broker sites) are profiting too much on selling their Google PageRank. These sites have been around a few years and are well optimized but they have a PageRank of 0.

4. A new filter on sites that are optimizing their anchor text too much to increase link reputation. This is known by SEO's as a link trap filter. This is why you have to increase your "link reputation" very carefully so you don't alert the link trap filter.

5. Keyword Filter this is the one put on certain sites that were high ranking but suddenly drop from the results. You can usually tell by putting dash marks on keywords to see if the filtered site comes up on top of the results for the keywords. For example If a site doesn't appear for a keyword like Health and Fitness but does appear if you input health-and-fitness the site could be filtered for the health and fitness keyword if it has dropped out of high rankings for the keyword.
