Google's Delay Filters May Hinder its Relevancy

I received an email today about one of the first major forces in Black Business John H. Johnson. John H. Johnson was the founder of Ebony and Jet magazines and he died today at 87 years of age.

Johnson is probably the first Black to build a business valued at a Billion dollars! He was an inspiration to me and countless others. I remember reading his inspiring book "Against the Odds"!

When I heard of his passing I immediately went to Google to see if I could find out more information on his life and demise. I scanned for 3 pages until I realized that this was breaking news, and Google had a delay filter on new web pages and links.

I then did a search on Yahoo! and found some articles on Mr. Johnson's recent passing on the first page of its SERPs. This makes Yahoo! a more relevant search engine for breaking news. Google may be hurting its position for relevant news and information with the usage of time based filters. You can read more on: Mr. John H. Johnson's Life Click Here
